It only had 42,000 Miles on it too! I looked up the Kelly Blue Book on it and it said that it was worth $9500+.... Also the guy I bought it from was very nice and it was just a great experience. It belonged to the guy across the street, his brother moved out of state and left the car and just wanted to get it off his property. This was in 1976. I was in high school and bought a 54 3/4 ton Chevy truck. Drove it for about six months and decided to sell it and get something else. I put a for sale sign on it and parked it at the gas station where I had an after school job. A hispanic family pulled up in a 55 Chevy Nomad. They had a bunch of hay in the back and the kids were sitting up front with mom and dad. The guy was a farmer and saw my truck and asked if I was interested in a trade. He said the only problem was that his transmission would only go into reverse and low gear. It wouldn't work in drive. We traded straight accross. The next day, I cleaned out all the hay and waxed her up and boy did she shine. Drove it in first gear down to a shop. They said the tranny was fine and the problem was in the shifter on the column. I had them install a Hurst floor shifter and was out cruisin for chicks and sufing by the weekend. Now I wish I had both the Nomad and that truck. It was my first car trade ever.
