There is no such thing as a hybrid that is “worth the price.” No matter what you do you will never be able to make up the difference you paid for a hybird in it’s life based on the price of gas to the cost of the electric fuel cell. Also keep in mind that a fuel cell in a hybrid has an estimated life of 40K miles. The battery will cost between 4,000 to 7,000 to replace. Even at the low end that is over 1400 gallons of gas you could have purchased.

it depends on if you want a car or a suv.. You drive in the snow at all?? If not the totota, if so the escape/mariner. We have tons of hybrid escapes in service and also the toyotas. Both great vehicles. Gm and Honda were the first to market all electric cars. The accord hybrid has had some issues but the people I know that have them love them. The prices on Hybrids are coming down and there is a goverment tax break on buying them right now. In NY they qualify as clean pass vehicles and let single drivers drive in Hov lanes. Why they let this happen, it was designed to promote car pooling not clean cars, but so be it. just another incentive to get a hybrid.

if you notice now that the hybrid market (at least in so cal) has really taken a nose dive. They aren’t as cost efficient as they once were (toyota is offering special financing and $2000 cash back on options for the prius, honda is offering special financing). I would look more to alternative fuel sources such as the Honda GX or the FCX (2008), if you are trying to be “green”
Toyota Prius is the number 1 hybrid vehicle on the market. Stick with the compnay that initiated the technology.
