   I would buy a Ford Focus, cheap to buy, cheap on gas, but plenty of space inside. Civic is also a sensitive option but you are going to pay a lot bot buying it, like with the Yaris. The 3 is good, but you can buy a 6 for the same price.

   i just bought a scion tc , made by toyota and much much better looking than a yaris, go talk to ur toyota dealer

   You might look at the Honda Fit. It’s within your price range and gets good mileage.
